Washington DC Area: Child Porn and Abuse Capital of the US

The prevalence of child abuse and using children in porn videos in the United States is of epidemic proportions.   This abuse is coming from people who are close to the children, not strangers.  Fathers, doctors, teachers, school aides, police, etc. all have been involved of instances of abuse and child porn production — not only violating basic decency, but also a child’s trust in those who they should be able to trust.  Almost every day, there is another case of such abuse revealed.  Two cases came to light in just the past few days.

In the first case, a school side, a 22-year-old man, was arrested after he allegedly filmed children performing sex acts on each other at a Maryland elementary school, police say.   Deonte Carraway allegedly “videotaped sexual acts between minors during the school day” at Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School in Glenarden, where he was a volunteer teacher’s assistant, the Prince George’s County Police Department said in a news release.  A relative of one of the victims found a nude photo on the child’s cell phone that was sent to Carraway through a social messaging app, according to the news release.  Investigators have identified at least ten victims ranging in age from 9 to 13, according to the news release. Carraway is believed to have “targeted the victims,” the document adds.

Police say they have uncovered 40 videos showing the young children performing sexual acts on each other or alone at the direction of Carraway. He is also believed to have sexually abused some of the children, according to the news release.  The alleged videos were filmed at the school, a municipal center, aquatic center, and in private homes, police say.   Carraway allegedly admitted to his involvement in manufacturing and producing the child pornography, according to the news release. He was charged with ten counts of child pornography, sexual abuse of a minor, and a second-degree sexual offense.

In the second case,  social workers were sent to a home to investigate the man, a licensed foster parent who was later found to be involved with one of the worst child pornography rings. He lived in a two-bedroom house with two adopted sons, a preteen boy for whom he was seeking guardianship, and a neighborhood teenager who had moved in after an argument with his parents.  When questioned, the children denied the abuse. But the tipster, it seemed, had been at least half right. Searching the man’s computer, social workers found two photos of children, unrelated to the parent, posing in their underwear. The pictures had been taken by one of the foster parent’s friends, one of the boys said. Sometimes they spent time with that friend, the boy said.   To these social workers, these underwear pictures were concerning, but they were not concerning enough. Social workers classified the investigation as “inconclusive,” then closed their inquiry, according to Riverside County court documents.  The boys were left in the man’s home. His foster license was left intact.

Today, that same parent, John David Yoder, sits behind bars, a suspect in what officials have called one of the worst child pornography rings in Southern California in recent years. Yoder and three other suspects have been accused of victimizing as many as 15 children in Desert Hot Springs, including some of the boys that lived with him. Yoder was arrested in February as result of a separate investigation by law enforcement in Nevada. The charges he now faces are nearly identical to the allegations that were reported to the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services shortly before Christmas.  If social workers had acted differently in December, the boys in Yoder’s home could have been rescued six weeks earlier.

Like in Ariana-Leilani’s case, government officials are notorious for ignoring signs of abuse and neglect.

Mayor Bowser and Chief Lanier: Take Some Action to Save Ariana-Leilani and Other Children in DC

Distinguished columnist Colby King writes that action needs to be taken now on the epidemic of child prostitution and trafficking in the District of Columbia:

“Human trafficking is a cruel and inhumane practice found in countries around the world. So it should come as no surprise that President Obama proclaimed this month National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.

“The exploitation and coercion of girls and young women into prostitution, however, is not limited to places overseas.

“Right here in the nation’s capital, our most vulnerable residents — children — are subjected to sex slavery. Their stories don’t make the evening news or even warrant blurbs in your morning paper. But human trafficking is, and has been, a shadowy and seamy part of D.C. life….

….

U.S. attorney spokesman Bill Miller told me this week, “Since 2009, about 70 defendants have been prosecuted in [federal and D.C. courts] on charges related to human trafficking . . . including abducting or enticing a child into prostitution.”

“The overwhelming majority of those cases” he added, “resulted in convictions.”

“The U.S. attorney’s office has a large task force and an active outreach program on human trafficking, and is urgently scheduling training sessions with D.C. police and schools. Seven churches are joining the Faith Coalition Against Sex Trafficking in our Nation’s Capital to sponsor a meeting Jan. 30.

“They can’t do it alone.

“Let’s help the president and the prosecutors: Human trafficking is in our region, in the nation’s capital, in your ward, on your block.

“Open your eyes. Don’t look abroad. Look down the street.”

Manhattan Dentist Is Arrested on Drug and Child Pornography Charges, and Sex with Animals

According to a drug dealer’s claims in the criminal complaint filed by the FBI, a prominent Manhattan dentist Dr. Wolf told him “that he was actively involved in underground sex parties at various locations in New York City, including in Brooklyn, where participants would engage in sexual intercourse with animals.”    The dealer also said that Dr. Wolf had shown him videos “of infants and toddlers being sexually abused by adults,” including images of infants and toddlers being raped by men, according to the complaint.   The drug dealer had been arrested at Kennedy International Airport in March when he told the authorities that he had been swapping methamphetamine for Dr. Wolf’s dentistry.

Washington DC is also known for similar underground sex parties where children are abused.   However, DC Child and Family Services refuses to take on this problem, which often implicates powerful individuals in Washington, DC.   Child protection officials often given doctors and powerful individuals a “free pass” when it involves child pornography and child abuse.

A Culture of Complete Denial of Sexual Abuse for 16 years

RotherhamLike Washington DC (where Ariana-Leilani lives), it was found that Rotherham England had a culture of “complete denial” over child sexual abuse.  However unlike Rotherham England, the US Government has failed to take action to correct it.

A report commissioned by Communities Secretary Eric Pickles said theRotherham England authority was “not fit for purpose”.   As a result the council leader Paul Lakin has resigned and the council cabinet will also quit.   An earlier inquiry found 1,400 children were abused by gangs of men, mainly of Pakistani origin, from 1997 to 2013.    The National Crime Agency (NCA) of England said the latest report, by Louise Casey, the director-general for troubled families at the Communities Department, identified “a number of potentially criminal matters”.   Files passed to the NCA relate to one former and one existing councillor arising from the inquiry, Ms Casey’s spokesperson said.  Investigators found the council had a “deep-rooted” culture of cover-ups and silencing whistleblowers, Ms Casey said.

The report found the child sexual exploitation (CSE) team was poorly directed, suffered from excessive case loads, and did not share information between agencies.   Ms Casey said: “This inspection revealed past and present failures to accept, understand and combat the issue of child sexual exploitation, resulting in a lack of support for victims and insufficient action against known perpetrators.”  A spokesman for the NCA said it would “examine a number of potentially criminal matters identified during a recent inspection of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.”

Urge Washington DC to reform its culture of denial of sexual abuse, and help save Ariana-Leilani:

“To think you know by looking at somebody – chances are you’re way off the mark,”

Matthew Coniglio’s had a trove of child pornography, more than 50,000 images and videos stored on laptops, external hard drives and thumb drives. including  56 8-millimeter cassette tapes they say show him raping and molesting girls.   All were unconscious, apparently drugged, FBI Special Agent William Kirkconnell, who viewed the tapes. Some were so incapacitated they were snoring.  Kirkconnell said authorities planned to bring federal charges but never got the chance.

He was a 46-year-old traveling salesman who worked and lived in cities across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina,   After his arrest this year, Coniglio told a jailhouse nurse that he drank heavily – up to 13 beers and cocktails daily, records show.

One mother who allowed her girl to spend unsupervised time with him. The mother saw a news report about Coniglio and brought her daughter to investigators along with old photos of her.  “She recalls that he would always give her ice cream and give her hot chocolate, and she recalled that … those items at times tasted very bitter to her,” said Kirkconnell, who believes Coniglio drugged the treats to knock her out.

Rock Out for Ryder Benefit

Ryder Has Neutropenia

Ryder Arnold is fifteen months old, and like Ariana-Leilani, has the rare blood disorder Neutropenia, which compromises the immune system.   Although Neutropenia is a non-cancerous disease, many treatments are the same as cancer patients constantly monitoring the ANC (a count that reveals the immune system’s strength), bone marrow biopsies, and takes Neupogen injections each day to help boost the immune system.

At this point, Ryder’s prognosis, like Ariana-Leilani’s, is unclear.

Friends of Arnold’s have organized a benefit for Ryder. They have named it “Rock out for Ryder.”   Some of the proceeds will be donated to the Ella Jewell Foundation, which is a Neutropenia research foundation named after a little girl who died of Neutropenia.  Rock Out for Ryder will take place on Friday, May 16, at the Music Union Hall (116 N. Green Street). Three rock bands will perform: The War I Survived, Mudoon’s Clever Girls, and Canzo. The show begins at 7 p.m., admission is $5 and the event is BYOB. All ages are welcome.

Ariana-Leilani is being denied the Neupogen that is helping to keep Ryder alive.   Please consider signing her petition to get proper treatment:

Leutrell Osborne, Sr. Former CIA Case Officer, Joins Fight to Save Ariana-Leilani

WASHINGTON DC, and GENEVA –8 January 2014 — Dr. Ariel King, President and Chair of the Ariana-Leilani Children’s Foundation International, an internationally recognized advocate for children’s human rights, announced today that Mr. Leutrell M. Osborne, Sr., agreed to serve as the Vice-Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.  Mr. Osborne is an ideal choice because he brings a unique perspective of channeling his international intelligence experience into global peace and harmony.

With the Foundation’s mission dedicated to the advocacy, education, global adoption and adherence of children’s’ human rights, based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), Dr King has been selecting a team of experts since 2009 to help facilitate the treatment of Ariana-Leilani, a 10 year old, who is being denied access to medication that would save her life.  Said Dr. King, “I knew Mr. Osborne was the right person for the Foundation after reading Mr. Osborne’s memoir:  Black Man in the CIA (2012).  The United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) hired Mr. Osborne for 27 years and he served as a Case Officer, Communications Security Officer and more importantly, he was a Counter Intelligence officer who has experience identifying, analyzing and neutralizing adversaries in over 30 countries on 4 continents.  With his retirement from federal service in 1994, Mr. Osborne opened his services to domestic and international clients, like our Foundation, and his combination of experiences would add valuable insight into how to address the human
rights of children, including Ariana-Leilani Margarita Alexandra King-Pfeiffer.”

Mr. Osborne’s skill set is exactly what is required for the delicate situation of Ariana-Leilani, a 10-year old dual German/American citizen with a rare disorder, who is being denied access to life-saving medical treatments.  The Foundation’s attorney, Mr. Roy Morris, added, “Mr. Osborne brings a fresh perspective into this fight for children’s human rights, including those of Ariana-Leilani’s.  His experience and understanding of the inner workings of the intelligence community and the “dirty tricks” that some of its members sometimes undertake will be essential for our success.”

Mr. Osborne’s company, The Osborne Group International, improves company cultures and efficiencies for its clients by utilizing teams of skilled risk managers who perform organizational transformations to mitigate difficult business challenges that can arise either from the normal flow of business or from unanticipated contingencies.  Stated Mr. Osborne, “We’ve experienced a lot of challenging situations, similar to Ariana-Leilani’s, where everyone knows what they should do, but maneuvering within the system requires a lot of intelligence. That’s why I’m looking forward to working with Dr. King and the Foundation.  I can bring my expertise, experience, and network of relationships to provide an even higher standard of business, analysis, risk assessment and due diligence support.

Why We Cannot Take a Child’s Illness for Granted?

Thousands carol to fulfill dying girl’s wish in Pennsylvania.   Delaney Brown, 8, of West Reading, Pa., was dying of a rare form of leukemia but her community gave her all the support it could.  Brown also got to talk to pop star Taylor Swift on her birthday.

Ten thousand people in Pennsylvania came out to sing to a terminally ill eight-year-old girl who has given them much inspiration during her courageous battle with cancer.   On Saturday an estimated 10,000 people visited the home of Delaney Brown in West Reading Pa. The group sang songs and fulfilled one of the dying girl’s last wishes — a huge holiday sing-along outside her house.   Laney arrived home from the hospital Thursday, Dec. 19, according to her “Team Laney” Facebook page. Her doctors have said her rare form of leukemia means she only has a few days or possibly weeks left to live.

She died on Christmas day.

Tell Mayor Vince Gray and President Obama to stop taking Ariana-Leilani’s life threatening illness for granted.  Let’s help Ariana-Leilani before it is too late; sign her petition today: http://www.ariana-leilani.com

Short Video Documentary “Small Cries”; A DC American Tragedy

The Save Ariana-Leilani Coalition is pleased to announce the world wide release of the video documentary “Small Cries.”    The six minute documentary tells the story of how the “child protection” systems in the United States are failing, and how Ariana-Leilani is a victim of that failure.  This short and compelling documentary features exclusive interviews, including an interview with Dr. Joy Silberg, who speaks of the error in judgment that many child protective services make in certain abuse and neglect cases.   Very educational and inspiring, and Ireneo Namboka, an international human rights advocate and former UN official.

Definitely a “two thumbs up” “must see” documentary.

UN Universal Children’s Day: Its Time the USA Joined the Rest of World and Ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child

Today, 20 November 2013 We Celebrate the  24th year of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child

All of the other countries of the world (192 in all) have ratified the convention recognizing that children have rights.  the USA is the only developed country left that has  not signed that convention and recognized children’s rights.

Even though the USA helped draft the convention and signed it 20 years ago, the USA has reneged on its commitment to the children and the international community by not ratifying the convention.

Isn’t it time to keep the promise to the world’s children who visit and live in the USA to assure that they have recognized rights. Isn’t it time to ratify the UNCRC.

The UNCRC is for all the world’s children.
